THE RIGHT FLY AT THE RIGHT TIME

  Photo: Ben Bilello
WET OR DRY?  DON'T WORRY!  BOTH WORK EXCELLENT!
EQUIPMENT - TIPS
FLY ROD
A 9 foot WT 8 rod  is suitable for such a big river such as the George and his weather conditions.

Most convinient for flight transportation is a 4-piece rod, which can easely be stored in the cabin's overhead luggage department or attached to a backpack.
Fly fishing equipment for Brook Trout should Include a 5 to 7 weight fly rod.

* It is advisable to bring a spare salmon rod.

FLY REEL
A solid reel with 200 - 250 foot backing (30 lbs)  is a must to fight powerful George River salmon. Make sure the reel has a sensitive yet powerful brake, to fight fish in the rapids.

THE "HITCH"
Picture
For wet flies we prefere the "hitch",
a second knot over the fly to give it
a upwards movement.

Very succesful and easy to learn.
